I’m a fairly frequent traveller, but there are a number of places I don’t get to visit as much as I’d like.
Switzerland is one of those places. And so when I was invited to speak at a meeting in Basel in December, 2019, I quickly said ‘Ja! Merci vilmal!’ and started planning my trip.
The meeting itself was excellent, even though I was given the very last speaking slot on the very last day (which necessitated late-night navigation of the Swiss railway and the Zurich S-Bahn to make it back to my hotel for an early morning flight home). The city of Basel is lovely, and very much as I expected. All in all, a terrific few days.
